Wash the drip tray and grilles as soon as possible after use. This way, the steel parts remain as good as new for a long time.
To clean the smoking oven, you can remove the heating element by removing the heating element fastening nut. Clean the smoking oven with a damp sponge and cleaner (e.g. Muurikka Multicleaner); you can also clean the grille and the drip and chip trays with a grill brush or in a dishwasher.
After cleaning, put the heating element with the support frame back in place and tighten the nut. After cleaning, heat the smoking oven with the heating element for some time so that the smoking oven dries up.
Clean and dry the smoking oven, especially before winter storage, as salty moisture can cause corrosion to the heating element and the smoking oven body.
Store the smoking oven with the feet down. The Electric Smoking Oven protective cover is a handy accessory, it protects the smoking oven from dirt and moisture.
Affordable spare parts are available for Muurikka Electric Smoking Ovens. The heating element, grille, drip tray and chip tray can all be replaced.
