Chicken kebab in a flatbread

Picnic food that is easy to prepare and take along is most welcome while out on a hike or picnic. Pre-prepare the ingredients at home by chopping and cutting vegetables and chicken, and pickling the red onions. This way, food is quick to cook when you get hungry.

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • 1 whole grilled chicken
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • ½ dl vegetable oil
  • Fajita spice mix

Pickled red onion:

  • 1 dl sugar
  • ½ dl vinegar 12%
  • 1.5 dl water
  • 1 red onion, sliced thin

Heat the sugar and liquid ingredients until the sugar melts. Pour the warm mixture over red onion rings.

 

Toppings:

  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • Pepperoncini peppers
  • Machê salad
  • Kebab sauce
  • Oriental flatbread

Step by step:

Place the Muurikka pan over the fire.

 

Saute onion and chicken in oil.

 

Season the dish with a fajita spice mix.

 

Combine the warm chicken, vegetables and kebab sauce on bread and then fold the bread.
